Hen's Castle, Galway Activation

Members of The Galway VHF Group will be activating Hen's Castle, on an island in Lough Corrib on the last weekend in July.
They are expected to be QRV throughout Saturday 31st July and Sunday 1st August on 160, 80, 40&20m, depending on conditions. They will be operating two stations for the duration of the event.

King John's Castle, Carlingford Activation

Dundalk Amateur Radio Society, will be activating King
John's Castle, Carlingford, Co Louth on Sat / Sunday,
29 / 30th May 2010

The Castle Designation for the event will be No. EI 006 / C

WAI squares, EI Counties, and CASHOTA, conditions will
be available to stations who call in, operation will be
on all HF bands, and on most of the VHF / UHF bands as
well. All QSL routes will be catered for.

Call sign of the station will be EI7DAR/P,

The organizers of the Carlingford Oyster Festival have
invited the Dundalk ARS to demonstrate Amateur Radio to
the public, and there will also be some Tall Ships in
Carlingford Lough over the weekend. A good outdoor
activity is expected for all the family.

Oranmore Castle Activation

Oranmore Castle will be activated on St. Patrick's day, March 17th 2009. Gerry EI8DRB of the Galway VHF Group will be QRV on 80m, 40m and 20m throughout the 17th, conditions depending.

The designated serial number EI/001/C has been issued to this castle. The castle is located in WAI Square M32.
